Signature: Signed Lower Right
Caricature by George Wachsteter (1911-2004) of Kathy Nolan as Kate, Walter Brennan as `Grampa` Amos & Michael Winkelman as Little Luke in `The Real McCoys`, the hit ABC-TV sitcom deemed the first `rube-com`. Missing here is co-star Richard Crenna. The show was in the Top 10 thru most of its 1957-62 ABC run, but when the show shifted to CBS in 1962 with a cast change, it was cancelled in 1963 after 224 episodes. Cover art for Sunday, Aug 3, 1958 issue of The New York Journal American TView Section. On 20" x 15" illustration board with colored pencil overlay on onionskin taped to acetate. Includes proof printing of the magazine cover. 14" x 9 1/2" image. Minor soiling, tape stains to margins.
