About the Item

Allegorical Scene is an original modern artwork attributed to the Louis Fabricius Dubourg in the first half of the XVIII Century. Original sepia drawing on paper. Durmast wood Frame included. Fair conditions. Fine work on paper representing an allegorical scene: a female figure on the upper side bring a cornucopia with coins. On the lower side of the work there are two other figures with and old man on the lower margin. The group is a natural environment and, on the right side of the work, there is the silhouette of an ancient temple. The work has been probably realized by the painter Louis Fabricius Dubourg (Amsterdam, 1693 - Amsterdam, 1775). Dubourg was an historical painter and engraver. He was one of the pupils of De Lairesse and Jacob von Huysum. After producing several beautiful pictures, he exchanged the brush for the graver and executed some vignettes and other small compositions. This artwork is shipped from Italy.
