Lockard, Robert Ivan. b. Norton, Sept. 18, 1905; d. Lubbock, TX, Feb. 1974. Painter, spec. landscapes. Teacher. Etcher. Received a BA and MA in architecture at Kansas State Univ., Manhattan and studied painting with John Helm, Jr. Taught at Kansas State Univ. from 1931-32 and was assistant to the Director of the Nelson Galley in Kansas City from 1933-34. Taught painting and architectural design at Texas Tech. Univ. in Lubbock, TX from 1935-73. Member: Society of Independent Artists; Prairie Water Color Painters; South Plains Art Guild; Texas Fine Art Assoc. Exhibitions: 7th Annual Kansas Artists Exhibition, 1931; 8th Annual Kansas Artists Exhibition, 1932; Midwestern Artists Exhibition, 1932; Midwestern Artists Exhibition, 1933; Midwestern Artists Exhibition, 1935; Texas Tech.
