LATE 20th Century American School Impressionist Watercolor Painting of Artist’s Self Portrait Handsome example of 1990s Latin American art depicting a man raising his hands by Latin American, California-based artist Ricardo de Silva (Brazil/American 20/21st Century). The man is shown with no shirt on, eyes looking upward, with his hands raised high above his head in a praise appearance. The background is made up of black on either side of the man, with golden and yellow "light" behind the man, almost such as a light shining down above him. A lighter shade of gold is seen on the left of man, while darker on the right. Presented in a white mat. Unsigned. From a collection of Ricardo de Silva's work and memorabilia. Image with mat: 30" H x 38" W Image: 20"H x 28" W Sheet size: 30"H x 22"W. DeSilva was born in Brazil and grew up in Los Angeles. He was a gallery owner, first in Santa Barbara in the 1960's and 70's, then in San Jose in the 1980's. He was dedicated to promoting the work of talented upcoming artists, including Kogyo and Hasui Kiyochika, Robert Frame, Jim Stuckenberg, Alice Robertson Carr, Deborah Eve Alastra, Russell Kelly, and Diana Mark.
