About the Item
Repubblica Romana is a beautiful historical manuscript embellished by meticulous decorations concerning the Roman republic: the wolf with the twins, a Roman view on the Imperial Forums, a balance, Villa Pamphili, the Papalins symbols and a Muse writing realized by a sure hand with China ink, tempera and watercolor on paper.
A long explicative hand-written inscription in Italian is at the center of the sheet: "A Giuseppe Garibaldi/ Generale della Repubblica Romana/ nel giorno 30 Aprile 1879/ rammemorando/ il glorioso fatto di Villa Pampkili/l'associazione olistica/ Giorgio Pallavicino/ di Fodogno/ in pegno di virili propositi/ pei futuri cimenti/ della libertà". Concerning the heroic deeds of Giuseppe Gariobaldi, this interesting document is in good conditions, except for some visible folds of the paper, and discolorations of colors and of the red ink, and preserved his charisma and beauty.
