Il disegno, matita su carta 32 x 22.5 cm, raffigura una figura femminile che indossa un vestito con le maniche corte e la gonna che lascia intravedere le gambe, distesa su un fianco, delineata da leggeri ma numerosi e movimentati tratti di matita. Proviene dalla collezione degli eredi dell'artista Raffello Arcangelo Salimbeni.
Anche se cresciuto a Siena con la zia materna, l'artista nacque a Firenze e lì vi tornò nel 1936, su consiglio del pittore Giuseppe Vagnetti, professore all'Istituto d'Arte di Porta Romana, che ne aveva riconosciuto le grandi qualità e e iniziò a seguire le lezioni di scultura di Bruno Innocenti.
Sebbene inizialmente rivolto alle arti plastiche, il suo interesse virò anche alla pittura e al disegno, inizialmente influenzata dall'espressionismo
