No Sense Investigation

2018

About the Item

NO SENSE - 2018 Technique: Mixed media, collage and ink on grain paper 300 grs Dimensions: 24 x 30 cms Signed by the artist, with his certificate Cut out stickers, stick stickers and drop ink stains "... This is how Christophe Stouvenel says" KIKI "defines his No Sense series. Surrealist inspired and Dada, everything starts from the idea of assembling on paper grain, in the manner of a child but with the rigor of an adult, elements as disparate as shreds of old papers or sheet music, rides tickets, old labels, negative photos etc ... and without any direct relationship between them. To these selected elements, cut, glued, organized, the artist "collagist" for the occasion, randomly adds ink china tasks and color stickers. With this choice of expression format for his "No Sense" (that he structures all in the same way, under the same type of frame in matte black, and without ever giving them a name), "KIKI" makes tribute to old paper, these newspapers or old books dating from the years 1900/1930 as well as those of the 80s, periods from which it draws an inexhaustible inspiration. This series therefore exists only in that it has no definite meaning, that it is not limited in any way whatsoever.

  • Agreement with Mother-I: Painting, Mixed Media on INR 100 Court paper "In Stock"
    By Pradosh Swain
    Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Pradosh Swain - Agreement with Mother I – 8.2 x 11.5 inches (unframed size) Mixed Media on a INR 100 Court Paper ( used to make a legal agreement ) Inclusive of shipment in a roll form. Style : Pradosh’s works can be described as psychic automatism in its pure state. His works are expressive and his palette vibrant and gorgeous. Nature is the frequent imagery that we see in his paintings. Sometimes his imagery is outlandish, perplexing and uncanny as it is meant to shake the viewer and make them to think beyond the theories which they have guarded themselves with. Lot of elements that we see in pradosh’s paintings also come from his childhood days in Odisha. like the cock, kite or the bioscope. As a young boy also he used to enjoy nature study and it became his daily routine to go and sit amongst trees and birds and observe them very closely, which made him gain mastery over water colour medium. Pradosh’s paintings have a surrealistic quality, the imagery is dreamy and mystical and rendering is such as if there is some kind of romance and magic happening amongst the colours in his palette. His paintings are the result of brilliant culminations of feelings and things that are between imagination and reality. They reflect his genuine concern about issues he feels for. He emphasizes on the power of imagination and believes that revelation could be found anywhere….on the streets and in everyday life. Through his paintings artist depicts the notion that how our high pace life is making all of us loose that contact from the nature or even with ourselves.
