Artist Carey Parks shares a striking viewpoint of a busy day at an urban crosswalk. She illustrates numerous people hurriedly crossing the impressionist cityscape. "I captured this scene in the neighborhood where most of the Off-Broadway theaters are," shares Carey. The highly pigmented shirt of the subject in the foreground creates a strong contrast with the surroundings—making for a distinct point of interest.
About the Artist
Carey Parks recreates the nostalgia of a family album in her familiar scenes. Some of her works actually take inspiration from her own photographs and places she has visited. She also creates up-close portraits and colorful landscapes. She frequently mixes paint directly on the canvas to create interesting color mixtures.
