Porcelain Plate in Blue Presentation Box with Estate Logo

This beautiful Limoges porcelain plate is based on an untitled Basquiat painting. The motifs illustrated on the plate—graffiti, conceptual words, creatures, voodoo, and superheroes from vintage comics—are typical of Basquiat's work. It was made in France under the auspices and authorization of the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The New York-born artist was discovered as a graffiti painter in 1981. Basquiat soon gained international notice and critical acclaim for his visionary fusion of multicultural symbols, scathing social commentary, and frenetic graphic style.
Manufacturer: Ligne Blanche, France, under auspices of the Jean-Michel Basquiat Estate
