This is a Autograph Letter Signed by Victoria Ocampo to the Countess and patron od arts, Anna Laetitia Pecci Blunt. Villa Ocampo, San Isidro, October 25th 1960. One page, single-sided. In French. Excellent condition: As good as new. Perfectly readable. On letterhead paper "Villa Ocampo, San Isidro". Written from the sumptuous Villa Ocampo, this is a interesting letter of request: the Argentine writer would introduce Eugenio Guasta, (the translator of La Isla de Arturo), interesting in Italian literature, to the Countess. This autograph ends "Dans l'espoir de vous revoir et de revoir Rome". Victoria Ocampo Aguirre (Buenos Aires, 1890 - Béccar, 1979) The Argentine publisher and writer, Victoria Ocampo was the first woman who managed to enter the Argentine Academy of Letters, founder of one of the oldest feminist movements in Argentina, the Union de Mujeres (Union of Women), member of the International PEN Club and honorary graduate of the 'Harvard University. Before she died, she donated Villa Ocampo, his home in the city of San Isidro, to UNESCO. Victoria Ocampo has written various essays, among which those dedicated to Emily Brontë, Lawrence of Arabia and Virginia Woolf, countless articles and a long series of "Testimonials", collected in a total of ten volumes and published between 1935 and 1977. Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci (Rome, 1885 - Marlia, 1971) Best-known as "Mimì" Pecci-Blunt , the Italian noblewoman was an art collector, patron and nephew of Pope Leo XIII. Extremely volcanic, she was very active in the cultural field, opening numerous lounges, galleries and theaters. In 1919 she married Cecil Blumenthal, later changed to Blunt, a wealthy Jewish banker from New York, heir to an important collection of nineteenth-century French painting. His Parisian and Roman salons was frequented by artists and intellectuals of the caliber of Salvador Dalì, Paul Valery, Poulenc, Paul Claudel, Aldo Palazzeschi and Victoria Ocampo!
