About the Item
This painting is part of the Walks Collection which I began during the first Covid lockdown. This walk around the small Hampshire village of Ashley is one of my favourite places to go and sketch. Winter provides a very different colour palette of ochres and umbers, which I brighten with a touch of kings blue. These paintings are not about fixed landscapes but glimpses of trees, hills and fields which I slot together like a jigsaw.

Artist BIO:
CAROLINE HALL worked as a reporter and presenter with the BBC in Southampton before moving to Berlin in 2000 with her family. She graduated from Winchester School of Art with a first class honours degree in Visual Art in 2004, and completed a Masters in Painting in 2007. She was named as an Artist to Watch by emerging arts specialists Degree Art in 2009. Her work is in collections worldwide.
