About the Item
BLACK COLUMNS DIPTIC
Belonging to the exhibition "FROM STONE TO CANVAS" inspired by the cathedral of Granada.
The work DIPTICO COLUNMAS NEGRAS tries to simulate the columns and semi-columns characteristic of the cathedral of Granada.
The main color of the series "from the stone to the canvas" is white with all its shades, chromatic scheme with all its nuances, a chromatic scheme that together with touches of gold was chosen by the master from Burgos SILOE to preside over the interior of the cathedral.
The collection includes colors such as black and fluorine tones, in order to make a wink to another of my most characteristic series, the "Pop Miami" series, creating a fusion between both series, as in this work.
Worked with fabric on canvas, the folds, gathers and drapes that during my professional draping that during my career in the fashion world, I would use to design and fashion world, I would use to design and make distinguished garments, form in this work part of the of art in this work, painted and sculpted, they become a semi-rigid piece that simulates a column, as well as the textures worked in marble dust, make reference to the stone.

- Golden Lore IV - contemporary mixed media collage gold abstractBy Russell FramptonLocated in London, GBThis recent body of work is informed by my continuing research into the physical and metaphorical nature of archaeological artefacts and votive objects, allied to the referencing of the symbolic forms and materiality of alchemy. Central to this practical investigation has been the use of ‘gold’, and the qualities that the material, with its obvious chromatic and symbolic values, seems to possess. This has driven both the conceptual and pragmatic concerns within the evolution of this work. Gold is an alluring and complex symbol of many, often conflicting meanings, avarice, greed, wealth but also of purity and celebration, and has been used as the adornment of spiritual and religious iconography as a devotional act for millennia. The titles refer to connections I have made with the forms themselves, often when making a painting a word will emerge which acts as a form of poetic catalyst. ‘Parsival’ or Percivale/Peredur was the knight questing for the holy grail...Category
