About the Item

Large abstract expressionist oil on canvas of Toulon Rugby Club supporters at a rugby match. Unsigned. Extremely vibrant and energetic depiction of Toulon rugby club supporters in the stands. Quick brush strokes and high energy colours evoke the highly charged excitement of the match. The sea of figures are dabs of paint, almost pointillist whilst broader strokes make up the waving flags and banners. At first sight this painting looks like a totally abstract work and then slowly the shapes and forms begin to appear. An explosion of excitement and colour to liven up any room.
