Antoine Emile Plassan (1817-1903), a French painter of genre works, portraits and landscapes, was born in Bordeaux. He exhibited frequently at the Salon and was awarded medals in 1852, 1857 and 1859. In 1859 he was also appointed Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur.
