About the Item
Late 19th century figurative landscape watercolor painting of a fisherman in a small boat on a small pond in London, by H. Darnelli ( England, 19th C). Signed “H. Darrnelli” in the lower right corner. Titled "Golden Autumn" lower left. Displayed in an ornate wood frame and a new cream mat with glass. Image size: 7” H x 15.75” L.
Member West London Angling club, which would meet at the Lady of the Lake Inn, later the association was renamed "The Lady of the Lake Angling Association". Gave many Piano recitals in London, 1880-1890. A well-known painter among his peers and created many paintings as prizes for his angling companions.
