Zaza Khabuliani was born in the Republic of Georgia, in 1966. He enrolled in Art Academy of Tbilisi in 1992-1997. Since 1999, Zaza has lived in New York, USA where he continues to produce exceptional works of art by exploring new subject matter while maintaining his unique style. Painting with heavily layered impasto paint, Zaza's work combines sophistication and whimsy, drawing on the influence of great 20th century figurative Modernists from Picasso to Dubuffet as well as contemporary "Outsider" art. The result is both deeply personal and universal in its appeal.
