About the Item
A stunning oil landscape by Arthur H. Davis, depicting a local shepherd herding his sheep to market. Davis has set the rural scene with soft and delicate tree, accompanied by wild woodland flower. Further to the background two more figures can be seen, heading in the same direction as the shepherd and his flock. The oil has been carefully signed and dated to the lower right, with a second artist's signature and inscription verso. Elegantly presented in a distressed green frame with bead and reel detail. On wood panel.
