Harold George
Sunrise on the river 'The River at Shiplake', Signed Oil Painting

1971

About the Item

The River at Shiplake, England, Signed Original Impressionist oil By British artist Harold George, 20th Century Signed by the artist on the lower left hand corner and dated '71' & verso Oil painting on board, unframed Board size: 10.5 x 14.5 inches This tranquil scene is of a boat with the whole of a river laid out in front of with a day of adventures ahead of it. The trees show the Autumn season, so I imagine the air is clean, crisp and undeniably beautiful. This painting will look sensational on a light grey wall colour. There is a note by the artist on the back, and although it is hard to decipher I believe it mentions that the boat painted here was the same used for the film 'The Eagle has Landed.' Condition report: The painting is in a lovely condition.
