Hazy Sunrise with Blue Mountains - Landscape in Oil on Canvas
Vibrant landscape with blue mountains by Kelly Cool Lucas (American, b. 1974). A line of bold blue mountains crosses the composition, dividing the painting into three distinct sections. A hazy sky above is soft yellows and purples, blending into the tops of the mountains. Below the mountains, shadows fall on a dark red and orange valley, creating a solid base for the composition.
Signed and dated on verso "Kelly C Cool 2004"
No frame, but the edges are painted for a frame-less display.
Kelly Cool Lucas (American, b. 1974) is a painter from Parker, Colorado. She spent ten years in San Francisco as a professional artist before moving back to Colorado in 2001. Shortly after the events of September 11, Lucas painted a tribute the first responders that was auctioned to a private buyer for $25,000 but ended on a different journey - it now travels around to fire stations as a reminder of those who gave their lives and is known as the “travelling tribute.” Lucas now resides in Carlsbad, California, and splits her time between painting and real estate.
