Michael Obermeyer
Rockpile

2019

About the Item

Provenance Acquired by the gallery directly from the artist Artist Statement "Rockpile is a favorite surfing spot for the local surfers in Laguna Beach. The rocky reefs create a nice break when there is any surf. It is also a gorgeous place to paint, with views looking up and down the coast, from up on the bluffs or down on the sand. I painted this one quickly, as the afternoon sun and glare moved across the water, creating this high key, fluid scene." —Michael Obermeyer Exhibited Fleeting Moments 2nd Biennale: Works en Plein Air, American Legacy Fine Arts, November 22 – December 15, 2019 Framed: 16.25" x 14.5" x .5" Unframed: 8" x 10"
