About the Item
The edges are painted
This piece of art weaves together images of a temporary dimming of consciousness, where an individual is immersed in a whirlpool of personal experiences, prejudices, and fears. It captures a moment of uncertainty in one's own abilities, a time when we seek answers to profound questions, filled with anticipation for signs and prayers for the resolution of our inner inquiries.
The "Melancholy" series of paintings reveals the inner world of a person lost in his own emotions. When inner reflection takes precedence over life itself we strive to uncover our essence and understand who we truly are.
This collection delves deep into reflections on self-discovery and one's nature. The paintings are imbued with sadness and quiet serenity, while the blue and purple color palette emphasizes the magical and unreal quality of the scenes depicted.
The symbolism of horses in the paintings embodies inner forces that can be either wild and untamed or tamed and controlled. It reflects the struggle with inner conflict and ambiguity.
The artist hopes that viewers will reflect on their feelings and inner contradictions while contemplating these paintings. Whether they fear sorrow or, on the contrary, seek constant joy without understanding the potential for growth hidden in melancholy.
The purpose of this series is to encourage inner exploration and answer the question of whether melancholy is a problem or a path to emotional growth. The artist believes that the heart of melancholy may be a key to a deeper understanding of oneself and one's emotional landscape.
ABOUT ARTIST
Olha Vlasova is a Ukrainian artist who has been passionate about painting since childhood. She received her higher art education in painting and costume design, which heavily influenced her work. Ornamentation also plays a significant role in her art.
Olha experiments with various techniques and materials, but she finds that acrylics offer boundless possibilities for imagination and exploration.
As a professional artist, Olha is deeply committed to exploring the themes of female sexuality and self-worth. Her goal is to illustrate that a woman's appearance does not diminish her importance or autonomy. Olha asserts that a woman's appearance is her choice, not a means to achieve goals at the expense of men.
As an artist, Olha focuses her research on conveying the personal experiences of women who encounter condescension and the diminution of their value due to sensitivity and femininity. - Harmony in Bloom , Figurative original painting by Tetiana PchelnykovaLocated in Zofingen, AGIn "Harmony in Bloom," my latest canvas comes to life, capturing a serene moment of coexistence between a woman, her loyal companion, and the enduring forces of nature. Set against the backdrop of her home, nestled within the tranquil embrace of the grass, the scene is a contemplation of the symbiotic relationship we share with our environment. The Tree of Life stands symbolic in the background, its branches reaching skyward in a silent testament to our interconnectedness with the world around us. The flora and fauna, depicted in a primitive style with traditional folk ornaments, burst with vibrancy, representing the earth's raw beauty and the cultural tapestry that weaves through our daily lives. Upon the woman's shoulder, an ancient Kyivan Rus’ diamond ornament signifies the union of the sun and earth, a symbol of fertility and the cycle of life. This emblem, steeped in tradition, is a nod to the deep-rooted beliefs that ground us and remind us of our place within the natural world. This painting, from my ongoing exploration into the essence of femininity and its role within the cycle of life, reflects a deep appreciation for our ancestral heritage. "Harmony in Bloom" is not only an artistic expression of the enduring bond between humanity and nature but also an intimate portrayal of the woman as a creator of life and a guardian of ancient wisdom. - Reflections at Dawn, Figurative original painting by Tetiana PchelnykovaLocated in Zofingen, AG"Reflections at Dawn" is the latest contemplative addition to my "Thoughts" series. This triptych, measuring 100x60 cm, is crafted with acrylic paints on canvas, enhanced with oil pastel techniques, embodying my ongoing exploration into the depths of the feminine soul and its interplay with the universe. The painting portrays a young woman seated in the forest, symbolizing reflection and introspection. Her nude form speaks to vulnerability and a readiness to open her heart to the world. Engrossed in her thoughts, she may be recalling the past or dreaming of the future, her musings remaining untold. Adorning her shoulder is a Scythian-era symbol of the universe and the sun, a reminder that we are all part of something larger and an infinite cycle of life. The sunflowers and poppies leaning over her are taken from traditional Ukrainian ornaments, carrying the symbolism of the sun, blood, and rebirth. This work reflects on how femininity is intertwined with nature and cultural symbols passed down through generations. It represents my search for profound meanings and connection with antiquity while highlighting the significance of the female experience in the contemporary world. "Reflections at Dawn" is more than a piece of art; it is a personal symbolic journey towards understanding the essence of existence. ABOUT ARTIST: Tetiana Pchelnykova...Category
