  • A CHAMPION OF JUSTICE (Ruth Bader Ginsburg), 2021 - LARGE
    By Shepard Fairey
Located in Washington , DC, DC
"Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a hero of mine because she was a low-key radical. She encountered gender discrimination in her personal life which she overcame with perseverance and professional excellence, allowing her to infiltrate the male-dominated system and change that system from within to benefit women’s rights and equality under the law. Ginsburg’s accomplishments are inspiring, including founding the Women’s Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union before being appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993. Ginsburg was a champion of justice philosophically, but she worked tirelessly to manifest her ideas about justice in real-world policies. RBG was legendary for her work ethic, getting by on only a few hours of sleep and prolifically writing important opinions, often dissenting powerfully. Justice Ginsburg always stood up for equality with a degree of dignity and civility that was unassailable. I admire her ability to work with people she disagreed with and attempt to win them over rather than react with anger. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, thank you for being a role model in both style and substance. I’m donating proceeds from the sale of these prints to the League of Women Voters...

  • 'Meme Money 007: Green Goochi, ' by XVALA, Mixed Media Painting
    By XVALA
    Located in Oklahoma City, OK
In this mixed media 24"x24" painting, 'Meme Money 007: Green Goochi,' by XVALA, the artist colorfully plays with the 'Gucci' brand in tandem with the childhood cartoon series, SpongeBob. SpongeBob, as a green 'Goochi Sponge,' takes center stage with a green letter pattern on the canvas background. The work is a screen print with additional painting and iridescent oil stick by the artist with predominant colors of green and gold. XVALA's art illuminates the hidden fallout spawned from our high tech Internet age. His 'Fear Google' campaign exposed the decay of privacy and No Delete used hacked nude celebrity photos to highlight loss of control over personal information. The artist has worked with trash from the homes of Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and others, as well as dirt from the graves of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. The dirt appears in the New World Order collection as part of a pyramidal, 3D printed, living ant farm...
