About the Item

Arman (b. 1928, France; d. 2005, New York), one of the major figures of post-war art and a founder member of the French “Nouveau Réalisme” school, which was parallel to the American Pop Art movement in the United States. Arman developed a body of work intimately related to its own age, taking as its artistic material the manufactured products of the consumer society. At the core of his artistic statement are his “Accumulations” which employ the use of everyday objects as subjects.
