David Sinclair studied drawing and painting at the Glasgow School of Art under William Armour and Mary Armour and David Donaldson. He was awarded a Post Diploma and the major travelling scholarship and studied in Holland, Paris and London. In 1995 he won the Murray Thompson Award at the Royal Scottish Academy and in 1997 the Morrison Portrait Award at the Royal Scottish Academy. In 2001 he was elected to the Royal Scottish Watercolor Society (RSW) and was a member of the Council from 2002-2005. In 2004 he won the Winsor and Newton Award at the annual RSW Exhibition. His work is included in public and private collections and is regularly shown at the Royal Scottish Academy, and the R.S.W., and frequently at the Glasgow Institute, and the Society of Scottish Artists.

Mortimer Borne, Printmaker, painter, sculptor, and educator was born in Rypin, Poland in 1902 and emigrated to the US in 1916. He studied at the National Academy of Design, The Art Students League, The Beaux-Arts Institute of Design, and with Charles Webster Hawthorne, founder of the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown. Painted in a thick impasto style similar in technique to Samuel Rothbort and David Burliuk. Borne himself taught at The New School for Social Research in New York City from 1945-1967. From the 1920s through the 40s he was a prolific producer of New York City cityscapes and genre scenes.
