Protege of Thomas Hart Benton, Robert Elton Tindall was born on October 11, 1913 in Kansas City. He studied Kansas City Art Institute and at the Univ. of Kansas, Lawrence where he earned at BA and a MA. In 1940, when Benton organized an exhibition of his best students' work in New York, he chose Tindall and Roger Medearis to participate. In addition, Tindalls work was in the personal collection of Benton as illustrated in the book, "The Work of Our Friends: The Collection of Thomas Hart Benton and Rita Piacenza Benton"

Robert Elton Tindall
Robert Elton Tindall was born on October 11, 1913 in Kansas City. He studied at Kansas City Art Institute and at the University of Kansas, Lawrence where he earned a BA and a MA. In 1940, when Benton organized an exhibition of his best student’s work in New York, he chose Tindall and Roger Medearis to participate.
