Eli Freiman, born in Israel in 1960, is the son of renowned Jerusalem artist and silversmith Shuki Freiman. His studies include a PhD in Jewish History from the Hebrew University as well as a diploma in Curatorial Studies (Tel Aviv) and Photography Studies (Musrara). Freiman's photography combines deep observation of his subject, philosophical examination of his surroundings and years of perfection. Through his lens, he searches for a deeper understanding of his surroundings.

The process was invented by Heinz Sovilla-Brulhart in 1969. Due to the light penetration and refraction of clear acrylic compared to normal glass, the colours are more brilliant and the image sharper than with standard glass in a picture frame. A DIASEC mounted is usually of a high gloss finish. Because the print is glued to the acrylic glazing, the result is a completely flat mount of the image.
