Jurek Wajdowicz is a Polish-American photographer, artist, and publisher known for his distinctive photographic style and contributions to the field of documentary photography.
His minimalist, semi-abstract works are known for their dreamlike quality.
He eschews computer manipulation and utilises light and shadow in creative ways, evoking a sense of tranquility and capturing the fleeting beauty of moments.
By manipulating light, colour, and form directly through the lens, he creates works that dance on the edge of abstraction, some fully embracing it. The resulting photographs are evocative, inviting viewers on a personal journey of interpretation and discovery. This unique blend of documentary elements, visual storytelling, and a strong sense of composition defines Wajdowicz's distinctive style.

- 'Cicatrices 3' Large scale photo. Agave leaf, female tropical blue teal greenBy Sophia MilliganLocated in Penzance, GB'Cicatrices (3)' Limited edition archival photograph. Unframed, hand signed and numbered _________________ Scars of birthing in the unfolding leaf pattern of the giant graceful Agave. The sensual contradictions of silken flesh and the protective spines are a contemplation of motherhood's journey, the unfolding narrative impressed eternally upon the skin. Sophia's poetic photographs are an exploration of the balance in all things: in the sensual interplay of light and shadow; in wild raw energy and serene stillness; in joy and pain; in the enduring and the effervescent. They are a contemplation of the awareness that everything in existence is temporary, they speak of the ephemeral nature of all things. Moments, feelings, experiences cherished and appreciated in their impermanence, for that is where the beauty comes from. 'I work with time, and the immeasurable spaces of experience within... tangible traces, evidence left behind, records; process in action, stilled'. 40 x 60 inches Limited edition of 25 Archival Print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® paper, one of the most beautiful and high quality art papers available. The luxurious matt finish provides a reflection free image that is rich in detail, depth and tone. Hand signed, titled and numbered to the lower right corner on an approximately 1 inch white border. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity featuring a signature and edition number. * Please note that images of the artwork in situ and framed are an indication of how the piece can look, and in the context of other artworks.
