About the Item

Frame adds 7" to dimensions. Artwork is available in three sizes: 32 in. x 48 in. 40 in. x 60 in. 48 in. x 72 in. “Sunrise At The Sixes” Artist Journal Entry: "In December of 2022, I was invited to capture photos of the cowboys at the 6666 Ranch for their last branding of the year. The day before this photo was captured, we were working on a southern pasture in muddy conditions on a cold winter morning. All of the cowboys, including writer and creator of the television series Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan, spent all day branding their last group of calves for the season. The following morning, I drove from the North Camp where I was staying and met with all the guys again in front of the iconic L Barn. Waiting for the sun to rise, we gathered horses and exchanged stories alongside a warm cup of coffee before finally setting up the composition I had in mind. I wanted to create an image that captures the spirit and bond between these men. An image that celebrates the hard work and selflessness that goes into maintaining the ranch, the land, and the livestock that feed from it. Lastly, an image that honors this historic ranch and those who have worked under its brand. I am honored to have been accepted to create this artwork alongside the cowboys at the 6666 Ranch in collaboration with Taylor Sheridan." About The Artist: Beau Simmons has been a professional photographer since 2009. He grew up just outside Joshua Tree National Park, CA. He made a name for himself at 21 in the fashion photography industry working with clients including Marc Jacobs, 7 For All Mankind, Guess Jeans, and Converse. He was a go-to photographer for such agencies as Elite Models, IMG, and Ford Models. The fashion scene began to grind on Beau. Being a cowboy is in his blood. In this spirit, he decided to pursue his love for the western lifestyle and the wonder of the American landscape. Beau captures his artwork exclusively on film using the lost art of medium and large format film photography. Taking inspiration from masters of film photography like Kurt Marcus and Steven Shore, Beau finds passion in capturing some of the forgotten lifestyles of our time. By telling a story influenced by cowboys and the western culture, his body of work focuses on preserving authentic moments and documenting what might be referred to as a lost era in today’s society. His body of work is a collection of memories captured predominantly throughout North America. His commitment to telling an authentic story also includes working with American veterans and is on full display in his first feature coffee table book, The Twenty-Year War, that he created with two combat veterans, one of whom is his childhood friend. Beau is based in North Carolina but can usually be found traveling the United States, working on various ranches while capturing the western lifestyle.

In west Texas near the town of Valentine, is an art installation along the highway resembling a Prada retail store. It has become quite popular among social media and visitors passing by on their way to Marfa. I have driven past this place over a dozen times, and every time I do, there is always a group of people taking photos in front of it. Most of them usually dressed up in cowgirl boots...

Frame adds 7" to dimensions. Artwork is available in three sizes: 20 in. x 40 in. 30 in. x 60 in. 40 in. x 80 in. "The Four Aces Motel" Artist Journal Entry: "I have always been fascinated by the lifestyles surrounding the 1970s-1990s era. I grew up in the 90s in a small town located in the Mojave Desert in California. The nostalgic imagery captured back in those days has such a unique feel to them. With that in mind and other inspiration drawn from classic movies, I wanted to capture a series of images that reflected a 1970s story based in the vast desert surrounding my hometown. In this particular image out of the series, I wanted to create a scenario of a woman who just showed up at this motel in the middle of the desert in her classic 1971 Ford Galaxy. A place where cowboys and other drifters come together. Something that tells a story of how cowboys in the 70s could ride their horses up and stay the night. Where vagabonds could escape and call this place home for a night or two as they pass through town. I wanted to create an image that takes your mind back to this time period and gives you an idea of what an ordinary day might have looked like back then. This location is an actual Hollywood film set called The Four Aces. I contacted the owner and after an extensive interview process, receiving an LA County film permit, and production insurance, I was finally able to create a series of images that have been on my mind for quite some time." • Mojave 1975

Frame adds 7" to dimensions. Artwork is available in three sizes: 20 in. x 40 in. 30 in. x 60 in. 40 in. x 80 in. "Mojave 1975" Artist Journal Entry: "While working out logistics for my new artwork series, Mojave, this concept was one of the more challenging production sets to pull off. The final image you see here was only captured once on a roll of 120mm film. Weeks prior to this, I knew I wanted to have an old phone booth built outside of this classic diner while parking the car at the perfect angle to not block the cowboys staged in the backdrop. I didn’t have any idea what the location looked like in person nor had any time to scout before the day of filming. I had to work with what few images I could find online, various angles taken from Google Earth, and a notepad which I sketched on to give me a general idea. On set, we spent about an hour setting up the phone booth in the perfect spot, followed by adjusting the two vehicles at the correct angle. We used a 1969 Ford Galaxie 500 and a 1971 Ford F-250 Pickup. Once the vehicles were in place, I began posing the cowboys in the background and the two models last. Looking through my camera viewfinder felt like taking a step back into 1975. Everything fell perfectly into place. The styling of the outfits down to the props placed around the set. It was an incredible moment to have come to life with barely any reference to go off of. I hope this artwork takes you through a nostalgic daydream as it does for me." • Cowboys Never Die
    Located in Miami, FL
Frame adds 7" to dimensions. Artwork is available in three sizes: 20 in. x 40 in. 30 in. x 60 in. 40 in. x 80 in. Artist Journal Entry: "The cowboy and western lifestyle is always in an ebb-and-flow state in our society. When new hit television shows or movies come out, it tends to rise again in popularity in pop culture. What most people don’t see is that there is a thriving community that is still hard at work every single day behind barbed wire fences. Men and women caring for the land and the animals that we rely on in this country. Most of us can become easily distracted by a society that has misled us to believe that luxury items, vanity, and fame, are the only examples of success. Where value is determined by the number in one’s bank account. We’re constantly scrambling to make it to the top without realizing that these lifestyles and items are only temporary. You can’t take them with you once you’ve given your bones back to the earth. I captured this photograph out in west Texas just outside the small town of Marfa. I wanted to create an artwork that honors the American cowboy and places them at the forefront of our culture. A way to highlight them and their story. When trends shift and modern-day influence fades, cowboys never die." About The Artist: Beau Simmons...

Frame adds 7" to dimensions. Artwork is available in three sizes: 32 in. x 40 in. 48 in. x 60 in. 60 in. x 75 in. Artist Journal Entry: "My artwork, Pit Stop, was created with references like Bonnie & Clyde and the movie Pulp Fiction floating around in my head. A story that focuses on two lovers stopping at an old diner somewhere in the Mojave desert. An empty and barren wasteland that stretches on for miles and miles offering those who visit a last call to fill up on gas, grab a bite to eat, or crash in an old dusty motel room for the night. I wanted to capture a mood that felt lived in. A place that allows your mind to engage with it and feel like you’re standing there under a hot summer sun. Surrounding you in an environment filled with rolling tumbleweeds, cracked leather seats, 70s country echoing through the valley, the smell of burgers on the grill, cigarette smoke dancing in the air, the bell hanging above the gas station door dinging as you walk in, and the lovely stare from a woman’s eyes sitting beside you. This artwork was also an opportunity for me to create a scenario that I believe was just an average day fifty years ago. A much simpler time in a place I once called home. This artwork is for those who live for adventure. For those who live on the road. Finally, for those who just need a mental escape from our everyday lives." About The Artist: Beau Simmons...
