This print is from the artist's "Women Are Beautiful" portfolio, published in 1981. This 11 x 14 inch print is framed is a silver metal frame measuring 16.25 x 18 inches. The print is signed on verso.
Winogrand discussed the story behind this project in the introduction to his book by the same name. He said "Whenever I've seen an attractive woman, I've done my best to photograph her. I don't know if all the women in the photographs are beautiful, but I do know that the women are beautiful in the photographs."

Garry Winogrand
Garry Winogrand was an American photographer from New York. He is known for his extensive documentation of American life. Winogrand was the recipient of various Guggenheim Fellowships and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. His work is included in the George Eastman Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Center for Creative Photography. He is considered to be one of the great masters of 20th-century photography.
