----------------
Celia Rogge’s work is fundamentally influenced by living between two diverging cultures, continents, architecture and languages. While her self-proclaimed motto is “Always Look Up...” this is meant firstly in a figurative way but by her own definition also meant in a spiritual way. Her work is divided into her own “yin & yang” ”order and emotion”, expressed in two very different types of photography, one urban and one in nature.
Her inspiration is deeply rooted in the notion of discovery through visual reflections and a strong passion for symmetry and linear structure. Her architectural works of New York City, London and Berlin Reflections invite the viewer to a new perspective on the clear lines of these metropolises. This zest for linear structure, order and the vanishing point are continued in her images of grand interiors throughout Europe, the United States and Australia.
In her daylight infrared photography common vistas are filtered through the transformative power of light where it is absorbed and reflected on another wavelength than the human eye can see. Capturing this different frequency of light she discovers and conveys to the observer the emotional in the unemotional. Her vistas are elevated to a higher spiritual beauty.

- Alabama Street. Lost In Transition series. Landscape abstract photographLocated in Miami Beach, FLAlabama Street, 2019 by Ying Chen From the series "Lost In Transition". Archival pigment print Image size: 80 in. H x 60 in. W Edition of 5 + 1AP Unframed The artwork employs collage to fuse the ornate features of traditional architecture with stark modernist geometry. This duality within the piece highlights the city's journey through time, symbolizing the transformation from its historic roots to its contemporary identity. The interplay of shapes and the layering of eras challenge the viewer to consider the narrative of change and continuity in the city's evolution, emphasizing that in the midst of progress, fragments of the past persist, creating a rich tapestry of history and modernity. _____________ Ying Chen was born in Tokyo, Japan, to Chinese parents living in Japan.
