She stands in front of a window display with bright yellow umbrellas. The interaction between the colors of the foreground woman with the window display creates a punchy abstract pattern and a double take as if the window display extends into the street. The color-hunting eye of veteran street photographer Mitchell Funk transforms drab street scenes into sanctuaries of luminous bright colors.
The work is signed dated and numbered 2/15 lower right recto, with other sizes available, and it's unframed, printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper Mitchell Funk is an abstractionist while being a documentarian

Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
