"My series of wild horses embodies the ideals of freedom, wildness, power, beauty, protection and more,” Gagne says. “Our wild horse population in the United States is under constant threat through competition for natural resources from mining, ranching, water and politics. The horses are protected under the Wild Free Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971. In the not-so-distant past, it was descendants of these horses that helped develop our country. They are living symbols of the American west and freedom, deserving of our respect and humanity. Unfortunately, wild horses are being rounded up by the thousands at tax payer expense and stockpiled in longterm holding pens. Few are aware that if they are not adopted or rescued by a kind soul or a sanctuary they are shipped off to slaughter for human consumption in foreign countries. "The horse is a highly sensitive and intuitive creature. My experiences with wild and domestic horses have had a longterm grip on my photography practice, I have spent the last 10 years focusing my lens on the beauty and wildness of the iconic American Mustang in order to bring a bit of that wildness to my viewers. My hope is to inspire others not only to appreciate the beauty of these extraordinary creatures but to help preserve their place on our public land." Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tori Gagne earned a BFA in Fine Art Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her love of photography began in grade school working with a pinhole camera and developing film in the darkroom in her family home. She was deeply influenced by her mother and brother who were both professional photographers. Tori has a retired off the track thoroughbred, who has led her deeper in to the magical world of horses, and inspiring her to devote much of her work to photographing equine subjects. She has a special affinity for wild horse photography and is happiest on a dirt road in the western states seeking herds of wild horses to photograph, and advocating for them through her work. For Tori, there is something very special and spiritual in standing in the high desert in complete silence, experiencing the vast U.S. Western lands where wild horses roam. Her journeys to photograph horses in the wild or sanctuaries, and travel to international locations, has given her ample opportunity to photograph incredible landscapes and waterscapes. In addition to her equine work, Tori creates expressive images of the natural world that reveal the essence and emotion of being immersed in these environments. Tori has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. She has received international awards for her photography, which is in private collections globally. She currently resides in her hometown of Orono, MN. 10% of proceeds from selling her equine work is donated to organizations involved in the protection of wild horses and the necessary education regarding the plight of the wild horse population in the western United States. • Terry O'Neill - Marianne Faithfull, Photography 1964, Printed After
    By Terry O'Neill
    Located in Greenwich, CT
Marianne Evelyn Gabriel Faithfull is an English singer, songwriter and actress. She achieved popularity in the 1960s with the release of her hit single "As Tears Go By" and became one of the lead female artists during the British Invasion in the United States. Singer Marianne Faithfull posing in just a basque, stockings and suspenders on her first shoot to launch her pop career, London 1964, taken the year she was discovered at a Rolling Stones record release party by manager Andrew Loog Oldham. At the time of the photo-shoot, Faithfull had just released her first single As Tears Go By written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Faithfull is most notorious for leaving her husband to be with lead rock singer Mick Jagger; together they were one of the top power couples of the 1960s. She was one of the greatest fashion icons of the 60s and best remembered for her relationship with the Rolling Stones than for her solo music career. Speaking of the 1964 shoot, O’Neill said: 'I wanted to make her look more sophisticated and glamorous. 'This shoot really took her out of her comfort zone, but I think anyone would agree she looks fantastic.' Terry O’Neill is one of the world’s most collected photographers with work hanging in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. From presidents to pop stars he has photographed the frontline of fame for over six decades. O’Neill began his career at the birth of the 1960s. While other photographers concentrated on earthquakes, wars and politics, O’Neill realized that youth culture was a breaking news story on a global scale and began chronicling the emerging faces of film, fashion and music who would go on to define the Swinging Sixties. By 1965 he was being commissioned by the biggest magazines and newspapers in the world. No other living photographer has embraced the span of fame, capturing the icons of our age from Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Nicole Kidman, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig and many other of your favorite celerities, models and famous political figures, royalty and fashion iconic names in fashion. This photograph will be printed once payment has been received and will ship directly from the printer the artist works with. Your certificate of authenticity will be shipped separately from your print and in most cases will ship directly from the gallery. The Gallery is more than happy to provide clients with the next available edition number, however, the Gallery can only guarantee the specific edition number the client will receive once payment has been received. He photographed The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when they were still struggling young bands in 1963, pioneered backstage reportage photography with David Bowie, Elton John, The Who, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry and many more. His images have adorned historic rock albums, movie posters and international magazine covers. All Fine Art...
