Charlie Davies
Charlie Davies is a painter, printmaker, designer and jeweller. She grew up in Oxford and originally trained as a textile designer. Now she lives in Didcot with her husband and two children. She divides her time between painting, printmaking and silver-smithing. Her textile designs have been exhibited and sold at trade fairs in Frankfurt and New York and to major retailers in the UK. Davies has regularly exhibited her paintings and etchings in local exhibitions, at Oxford University Museum of Natural History, Oxford Town Hall, the O3 gallery and also has a selection of work available online. She loves painting seascapes, still-lifes and flowers. In 2010 she won The People’s Choice Award for her painting of the Didcot Towers called I’ll miss us when we’re gone!. Following that success, she began to paint local landscapes. Wittenham Clumps is her real favorite. In 2016 she decided to do an introductory etching course at the Oxford Printmakers, to help develop her printmaking skills. Charlie Davies loved it and joined OPC soon after. 2018 was a big year for her and she exhibited with Oxford Printmakers at their 40th-anniversary exhibition and three Oxfordshire Artweeks exhibitions. She won her second People’s Choice Award at the Chester Arts Fair, her work was also accepted at the Chelsea Art Society open exhibition and some of her works was published in The Oxford Art Book. Since then Charlie Davies has exhibited twice at the Affordable Art Fair and been accepted to several open exhibitions at the Mall Galleries in London with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and Society of Botanical Artists.
