About the Item
Patty deGrandpre’s “If You Cut Through Their Yard, You Can See the Small Green House” is an 11 x 14 inch ink monoprint represented on 19 x 13 inch Awagami Washi thin paper embracing both tradition monoprinting techniques and digital inkjet printing. Delicate red flowers are camouflaged by fragments of various landscapes in contrasting shades of grey and black. A pop of blue guides the viewer towards the center of the print where a small green house appears to be hiding within this lush layered composition. Blocks of color, delicate dots, and pictorial fragments blend harmoniously in this elegant print. Patty deGrandpre’s contemporary works have a powerful effect as there are multiple directions the eyes of a viewer can be taken, whether it’s right vs. left or top vs. bottom. This unique modern landscape is signed and dated on the bottom right corner. This print will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice.
Patty deGrandpre is a Massachusetts based artist. She has participated in many exhibitions both on local and national levels.
