TIMELINE DEGA MAN is a dreamy, modern abstract drawing depicting two futuristic figures wearing eye-catching black and white stripe robes, facing a colorfull window like tableau of floating shapes. TIMELINE DEGA MAN is mesmerizing with its bold Memphis-inspired color palette featuring deep red, cool light blue green, opaque pink, light blue, deep cobalt blue, chrome yellow, deep black and white. Artist Peter Max was born in 1937, Berlin Germany and spent his childhood in Shanghai. From China, the family went to Tibet for a year, and then on to Israel. Peter Max began his art studies in New York at the Art Student's League and continued at the Pratt Institute and School of Visual Arts. Peter Max, who is known throughout the world and is a household name in America, is famous for his new age style, cosmic imagery and multi-colored blends. During the late 1960's and early 70's, Peter Max's colorful art reached millions of people and he won numerous major awards for his work. Peter Max's paintings, drawings, sculpture and limited edition graphics have been exhibited in major museums throughout the world.

The poster was designed by Cristos Gianakos, who was also a professor at SVA, and the show was curated by Felice Wender, the director of Dayon's Gallery 12 in Minneapolis. The invitation states that "after completing its New York debut, the show will open at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in January 4, 1971 and continue through January 29, 1971. In May, 1971, Dayton's Gallery 12, Minneapolis, Minnesota will exhibit the new Rauschenberg works..." The text on this invitation additionally states that Rauschenberg said in a written statement about these works: "The image and the words cooperate to construct a flat re-reading of the facts plus familiar passing insignificancies that control our day.
