Roger Mudre
Artist Roger Mudre replicates patterns and hues found in nature in his paintings and prints, and the circles that can frequently be found in his abstract works represent infinity and owe to his interest in microscopic life forms and the cosmos.
Based in Connecticut, Mudre is the gallery director for the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan, Connecticut. He works in acrylics, and his paintings begin with a metal leaf foundation with layered colors overtop to create a sense of limitlessness which changes pursuant to the viewing angle. The effect is subtle, though unmistakable, and adds a level of complexity to an already entrancing image. Mudre has cited the work of Sol LeWitt and Josef Albers as having influenced his art.
Mudre’s work is a part of the corporate collections of Hotel Zero Degrees, Frontier Communications and the Energizer Corporation, among others. He has had numerous solo exhibitions in the state of Connecticut dating back to the late 1990s. In addition to the Silvermine Arts Center, he has solo exhibited at RGA Galleries in Ridgefield, the Bruce Kershner Gallery in Fairfield and the Wilton Library with group exhibitions at the corporate headquarters for General Electric, the University of Connecticut and Kouros Gallery in New York.

The subjects for his striking and captivating visuals are typically set in the most ordinary environments, drawing the viewer into a charged but serene experience based on composition, palette and formal lines. Saturated in color, the nominal subjects gather a haunting and mesmerizing quality, creating a poignant pretext for the making of a formal color photograph. Decisively capturing the traces left by humanity, Pawassar's images are filled with a sense of universal nostalgia and pay homage to the passage of time and the extinguished moment, referencing documentary and street photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastian Salgado...Category
