Sumit Mehndiratta
Sumit Mehndiratta is an Indian artist born in 1986 who lives and works in New Delhi, India. He pursued a Master of Science in international fashion marketing from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.
Sumit enjoys making artworks in different media that please the mind and soul of the individual. The artist’s works aren't restricted to one style or medium. His works range from those created in generic media such as canvas and paper to experimental media like digital art, mixed media and wall sculptures.
Sumit claims to have been an experimental artist since childhood. Be it drawing, sketching, painting or photography, he always liked to do something no one has ever thought of by adding his signature element to the task. To achieve this, Sumit creates his own painting tools to go with the techniques he thinks of. He also believes in impulsive acts of making art and its surprising results. Additionally, Sumit focuses on giving back to nature from his earnings as an artist.
With respect to collecting Sumit Mehndiratta's artworks, buyers help him contribute 10% of his earnings to an animal welfare organization based in India called Animal Aid Unlimited that treats, shelters and supports the adoption of injured animals from the city.

The subjects for his striking and captivating visuals are typically set in the most ordinary environments, drawing the viewer into a charged but serene experience based on composition, palette and formal lines. Saturated in color, the nominal subjects gather a haunting and mesmerizing quality, creating a poignant pretext for the making of a formal color photograph. Decisively capturing the traces left by humanity, Pawassar's images are filled with a sense of universal nostalgia and pay homage to the passage of time and the extinguished moment, referencing documentary and street photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastian Salgado...Category
