Golden Eagle - chromolithograph from an English natural history series. Monogram JGK lower left corner of the image.
John Gerrard Keulemans (1842-1912) produced thousands of drawings and lithographic plates for over one hundred major bird books and ornithological journals. With his skill as an artist and lithographer, and his excellent observation as a naturalist, he will always remain one of the greatest ornithological illustrators.
