Historic: this hand signed Christo poster invitation was created on the occasion of his exhibition at the Leo Castelli Gallery in New York on May 28, 1966. This particular invitation bears an international postage stamp and is addressed to:

Pierre Restany is the influential French art critic, theorist and writer who became close to Yves Klein and is credited with coining (and/or promulgating) the term IKB. Restany also famously coined the term "Nouveau Realisme" to describe the European answer to the American Neo-Dada of Fluxus and Pop Art. The group originally included artists Martial Raysse, Arman, Yves Klein, François Dufrene, Raymond Hains, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely, Jacques Villeglé - but Niki de Saint Phalle (Tinguely's wife) and, significantly, Christo himself would later join this group. Hence the historical value of this signed 1966 Christo poster, from the legendary Leo Castelli Gallery in New York, to Pierre Restany in Paris can not be underestimated. Hand signed boldy in blue marker by Christo on the front.
A true collectible for fans of Christo lovers of super rare, one-of-a-kind pieces of art historical ephemera involving the intersection of so many important historical figures.
In good vintage condition with folding and aging on the verso as would be expected from an invitation that was actually mailed overseas.
