Original Ford V8 vintage Swedish poster, c. 1932. Archival linen backed and ready to frame. In very good condition with expertly restored fold marks. Printer: Olséns Litogr. Anst. Sthlm. 'Den bästa som byggts, - säger Henry Ford'. Translated: "the best car every built" Henry Ford. Henry Ford and Ford Motor Company revolutionized the automobile market again in 1932 by introducing the company's V-8 engine. By casting the engine's block as a single piece, Ford decreased manufacturing costs and made the engine affordable to consumers. The venerable engine remained in production until 1953. Other automobile companies had used V-8 cylinder engines for their heavy, expensive vehicles. But Henry Ford wanted a V-8 engine light enough and cheap enough to power an inexpensive car like a Ford. After years of work, the engine was introduced in 1932. The world's first low-priced, cast-in-one-piece V-8 engine. A runner on top of the car was placed to show that this new car had speed even though the car could outrun a person on foot. Very little is available about the company and dates are gleaned from other original soccer posters that they produced. Original Air France "Far - East" original travel poster by artist Guy Georget; under the artistic direction of Jean Carlu. Conservation linen-backed and ready to frame. This difficult-to-find original Air France poster was printed in Frame by Bedos & Cie, Paris. Restored tear in bottom and touched up in outer white border. Presents very well. The center focal point is a pagoda-shaped building with three tall bamboo spears growing up the left side. A windsock fish is flying in the air about the building. Baumberger, Otto. PKZ 1923, Color lithograph, On Linen 50 1/2 x 35 1/2” Baumberger was one of the most prolific Swiss poster artists, with well over 200 designs to his credit. Beginning in 1917, he regularly worked for PKZ. This poster is not only the best he produced for the company but is also an icon in poster history. The tweed coat is rendered in near-photographic perfection to the point where you can practically feel the fabric. Baumberger took a totally new approach to advertising by ingeniously incorporating the poster's text into the image in the form of the label in the coat. With this poster Baumberger cemented his role as master of the "Object Poster," (a title he earned four years earlier with a classic image of a top hat), and began the trend of "New Objectivity" within the Swiss school of Graphic Design.
