Original vintage Southern Pacific railroad poster featuring a colourful image of The Streamlined Train With The Southern Accent crossing a railway bridge over a river against the clear blue sky with two men in the foreground, one waving to the driver in the modern sleek streamliner train, the Southern Pacific Lines logo at the front of the train and the information text below reading: The New Sunset Limited New Orleans - Los Angeles S.P The friendly Southern Pacific. Introduced in 1894 by Southern Pacific (SP; 1865-1996) to service the passenger route between New Orleans and Los Angeles, Sunset Limited is the oldest named train in America (owned by Amtrak since 1971); the luxury train was streamlined in 1950. Horizontal. Good condition, restored crease marks on image, restored tears, restored paper losses on edges, backed on linen.
