A Fine and Rare Early Barbers Pole, Early 18th Century, English School

1800-1850

About the Item

A fine and rare early barbers pole in original polychrome paint finish. Turned in one piece. A decorative and original piece of folk art. The white was for bandages, red for blood and blue for veins. These were all services offered by barbers at the time. English Eighteenth century Height 150cm (59") A beautiful work of art from Darnley Fine Art. The colours are a lovely soft glow that shines hanging from the wall or standing.
