About the Item
This unique sculpture is comprised of a combination of maple wood and pigmented birch plywood. This piece is comprised of 80 individual faces and is called Frequency 2 Icosahedron. This piece has an energy of playfulness to it, with the way in which the brightly colored faces of the ball create bursts of color that contrast with the light color of the maple wood. This piece, as with similar works by Ferraro, has a wonderfully nature to it.
Ferraro is a graduate of SUNY Albany (MA & MFA). Ferraro has exhibited internationally, nationally, with 22 solo performance / exhibitions. He is in collections of multiple museums, including Albany Institute of Art and History. Currently Ferraro is the Shop Supervisor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences managing a shop he designed and built from scratch.
