Philippe Pallafray
Large Temps Zero Red 4/10 - contemporary, large ring, aluminum sculpture

2023

About the Item

The elegant minimal form of this sculpture is accentuated by its bright poppy red exterior. This is Philippe Pallafray. Hand forged from aluminum, the four rings of various sizes sit inside and opposite one large ring. The interior of each ring is highly polished to a reflective sheen. The sculpture plays with space framing its surroundings. ‘Temps Zero’ translates from French as ‘no time’ or 'timeless', suggesting that the intersecting circles are infinite. Edition four of ten and available by commission. “What is removed from the sculptures, the voluntary emptiness, recalls the ephemeral and fragile nature of life.” Phillipe Pallafray He is a member of the Sculptors Society of Canada. Born in France, he emigrated to Canada ten years ago and currently lives in Ile d’Orléans, Québec. Pallafray's sculptures have been exhibited in Canada and the United States both as part of group and solo exhibitions. They are also part of public and private collections in Canada, France and the United States. Philippe Pallafray is represented exclusively by the Oeno Gallery.
