About the Item
My work starts from the expression of life in the present day as felt and seen through real experiences and situations. By expressing the present situation or cultural background, the element of 'art(picture/drawing)' was added to the concept of 'sculpture'. As a result, satirical and narrative elements were strongly introduced in the diverse expression of situations and one complete story is thrown to the spectator.
Hence, in my work the image of modern man, is distinctly expressed like an illustration. "I see! I can see what the artist is trying to say". I seek concepts and satires in my work that is comparatively easy for spectators, works to which they can easily respond and understand.
Satires are not simply reproductions of the social aspects of the times and the appearance of man in extreme situations. It is a metaphorically method of expression which expresses negative elements humorously, thus providing delight to the way people think. At first, laughter is aroused from the spectators but in the end the works make people think about the true image of modern man. They realize that it is their own image.
