Il busto di una giovane ragazza.
Epoca Art Nouveau, con un rarissimo lavoro in alabastro e micromosaico.
Firenze, circa 1900. Un busto di una graziosa ragazza con due varietà di pietra, l’alabastro e il marmo, e un lavoro quasi sconosciuto di inserimenti di micromosaico con fiori.
Il micromosaico è incastonato nell’alabastro, sia sulla veste della ragazza, creando una decorazione sullo scollo, che su una tiara che adorna i capelli, con motivi di fiori bianchi su sfondo blu.
Durante una ricerca ho trovato solo un busto con un lavoro simile, firmato da uno scultore fiorentino. Ciò conferma l’ipotesi che il mosaico sia stato realizzato in un laboratorio fiorentino, rendendo l’oggetto ancora più raro rispetto a oggetti simili in mosaico creati a Venezia o Roma.
Lo stato di conservazione è buono, senza fratture, con piccoli segni di usura e una patina adeguata all’epoca dell’oggetto.
Il busto è posato su una base in pietra più scura, di colore bordeaux con decorazioni bianche.
