About the Item
Omolu French Empire style bronze dore figural shelf clock, 19th c., "Psyche Couronnant L'Amour," after Claude Michallon (French, 1751-1799), engine turned dial with black enamel Roman numeral hour markers, time-and-strike movement stamped H*P, silk thread suspension, stepped base with allegorical scene in relief, rising on bracket feet, approx 25.5"h, 16.75"w, 5.5"d. The clock chime operates, time and strike springs are good, it has a silk suspension for the pendulum operation, the clock has been observed operating in our storeroom, comes with key. The clock has some rubbing, gilt loss in places, and scratches consistent with age.
