A very fun and decorative papier mâché hippopotamus by Sergio Bustamante, complete with custom pedestal. Very light and easy to handle, this hippo adds humor and taste to any room. White paint is a later addition.

Sergio Bustamante
Sergio Bustamante studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara, and sold his artwork while in school, beginning in 1960. After graduating, he worked with local ceramicists, eventually opening his studio. In 1972, Bustamante moved to Amsterdam, where he learned more about painting and design. In 1975, he established his Family Workshop Studio in Tiaquepaque, Mexico. His monumental sculptures can be found in several cities, including Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and Tiaquepaque.
