We are delighted to offer this Magnificent solid silver gilt set of six fruit/dessert knives and forks. The set was made by silversmith Aaron Hadfield of Sheffield in 1839. All the cutlery is meticulously crafted and decorated with a 'Queens Pattern' design. In addition to the exquisite and intricate design on each of the pieces, the entire set presents a rich silver-gilt gold colour that conveys a sense of importance and indulgent opulence. Each piece is fully hallmarked on the knife/fork and their respective handles. An magnificent, fine and impressive, large antique Victorian English sterling silver spirit kettle made by Barnard & Sons Ltd, an addition to our antique silver teaware collection. This magnificent antique Victorian sterling silver spirit kettle has a six paneled urn shaped form onto a hexagonal paneled spreading pedestal foot. The surface to this large spirit kettle is embellished with exceptional bright cut engraved foliate festoons incorporating quatrefoil leaf motifs and suspended from rosette designs to each edge. The decoration to the body incorporates two oval cartouches, one of which remains vacant. The cartouche to the anterior surface is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of an antelope's head couped, charged on the neck with four mullets in cross, and holding in the mouth a rose, slipped and leaved, displayed below the motto 'Nil extra numerum'- Nothing is beyond reckoning up*.
