This is a highly decorative, ironstone, twin handled circular footed Bowl by John Ridgway, dating to the English William 1Vth period, circa 1835 .
The bowl has been carefully hand-painted in bold colorful enamels with a chinoiserie pattern of three oriental people travelling on a boat, pattern number 5057. It is also richly hand gilded.
John Ridgway operated at his father’s celebrated Cauldon Place works, Shelton, Hanley, England, between 1830-1856, producing some fine porcelain and stone China of excellent quality. His stone China earthenwares and ironstone wares are discussed on page 305 of Godden's Guide to Ironstone, Stone and Granite Wares written by Geoffrey Godden for the Antique Collectors Club.

This is a good Mason’s ironstone large dinner plate produced at the time when Mason's was owned and controlled by George L Ashworth and Brothers after the bankruptcy of C J Mason in 1848.
This large plate is decorated in a the striking chinoiserie pattern called "Flying Bird" pattern, as illustrated on Page 121 of "A Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone Patterns" published by The Mason's Collectors' Club. The pattern would have been transfer printed then boldly hand enameled with good detail. The plate also has a mid-brown / ochre hand painted outer rim simulating the Chinese plates of the time and earlier periods.

Mario loved the unexpected. When we had a new shipment, he was always the first one through the door. And he always picked pieces that had something special. On this dish it is the pink "ribbon," which adds a delicate and beautiful touch.

Davenport was known for its dishes with decorative painted borders in many colors.
Yellow was the rarest of the colors as it would burn in the kiln if not expertly controlled.
The Davenport factory opened in the 1790s; by 1800, Davenport had become one of the leading English makers of creamware pottery painted with enamels.
Davenport made exceptional designs in the rococo, chinoiserie, and neoclassical styles.
